January 2009.
Being a huge Nine Inch Nails fan, I've always looked forward to not only their music, but also their artwork. I was once curious who their graphic designer was and found out it was Rob Sheridan, who is one of my favorite illustrators. While attending Hallmark Institute of Photography, one of our homework assignments was to replicate a famous illustrated artwork into photo. I've always wanted to do a shoot involving superheroes and their lack of respect from society after sacrificing their everyday lives to save unappreciated citizens.
Rob Sheridan's version of his 'Cereal Mascot Reunion' piece caught my eye, which included cereal box characters in a 70s themed room inspired from his childhood. I wanted to just be inspired by his work, rather than copy it entirely as part of the assignment, so I instead used a 90s themed room with bored and pissed off superheroe characters. This simple school assignment turned into one of my most popular requested prints today.
